Inverted Pyramid Style

 The inverted pyramid style of journalism is a new style of journalism that has made a surge in recent years. The style itself focuses on presenting the most important piece of information first and then the details later. In past years and history of journalism, journalists would get a news source, evaluate the evidence, and then write a story with the major details after thorough evaluation. With the new inverted pyramid style, the news or the headline gets out first. After the headline and story gets out, the fact check details come afterwards. This style really implements the hook that grabs the audiences attention and then all the facts and details after. This is why I believe there is such a problem with fake news in this country in the 21st century because while it is important and quick that a headline gets out there, the facts of the headline are not as confirmed yet. I believe that the style that is the inverted pyramid has its pros and cons in todays society because while on one hand, the major news headline get released to the public as soon as it happens. This makes major events and news sources seen and known right away. The downside is that fact checking some of these stories posted can be a challenge. For the image details,  have chosen to do an image of Jimmy Carter from a recent CNN News headline as my example of the inverted pyramid style of journalism. The article on CNN was about Jimmy Carter in his old age, and I believe it is a perfect example of how the inverted pyramid system works. The headline for the article itself is "Jimmy Carters Spirit 'as strong as ever' after years in hospice, grandson says". The CNN article was written by Aileen Graef and it was published at 5:22 pm on Febuary 18th 2024. The article itself is an interesting one that goes in depth on what the reasons are for why Jimmy Carter is doing so well at such an old age. The reason that I believe this is a perfect example of the inverted pyramid is because the headline hits you at the very start, but it takes a minute for all of the details to be figured out when reading the article. Some of the key words that can be searched to find this article are of course Jimmy Carter, former president, former presidents still alive today, and old political leaders.
