When it comes to any story about a massive headline in the field of marine biology, I am always interested or intrigued by the breaking headlines. Just recently, there was a news headline that came out about a discovery in Virginia Beach that has scientists in the field of marine biology questioning and thinking. On March 11th, 2023, two very large dead humpback whales washed ashore on the oceanfront. What has had the community of marine biologists questioning was the cause of death.

While there were many news outlets that did stories about this shocking discovery, two of the main ones that did major headlines on this topic were 13newsnow and pilotonline. While both news outlets were talking about the same story, the wording to the story was different and they way they described the situation was also different. Both had different approaches to the whole situation and studying the differences was very interesting to take notes on.

The other story about the washed up whales was written by pilotonline. Unlike the story by 13newsnow this one was written much more like a case file. The style this article was written was giving strict details about the whole situation without opinions or real explanations. Unlike the first one, this one may be harder to read for people who do not know what is going on. On the contrary, if you are someone like a marine biologist who is looking for strict details on what the situation is, this would be the article to read.
